American Guitars

Prs , Martin , Dana Bourgeois , Jackson , Ovation and finally a Japanese competitor Ibanez.

OK Gaffarel were not showing Gibson and Fender, Rickenbacker but I did get to see some PRS models. This Santana was priced at 55,000 french Francs - more than the Dr Pickup group earns in a day- just kidding. That’s near on 10,000 US dollars!
Here’s one of those lovely PRS vintage yellow Custom 10 tops

What a disappointment - The fullbodied archtop PRS guitars had to be returned to the US the day before. I really like PRS axes and was very disappointed that this Red PRS Mc Carthy looked mediocre, felt terrible and weighed as much as
my own PRS which is not a hollow body. Sorry Paul, but every other Mc Carthy I have touched and played were fantastic, this one just did not have that 'feel' factor.

Here is a beautiful Martin, dig the headstock. Wouldn’t mind playing this :-)

Here is a guitar from Dana Bourgeois, mm wouldn’t mind trying this!
A funky graphic guitar from Jackson. My friend Robert Jackson plays these and his guitar sounds great (especially when he’s playing it)

Other Jacksons - Dig the shape of the one in the middle!
Here’s one for Roger, me mate who has a wonderful Ovation

Some of the Japanese competition - Ibanez
This guy was wailin’. Smart guy would let people sit in with him encourage them on to really wail with some help from a wonderfull palette of sounds, and then they would move on while another unsuspecting guy would take their place. He was really pushing them. Bravo!
